A webinar dedicated to the memory of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, who died on November 25, 2016. Six years later, the message remains: #FidelPorSiempre y #FidelEntreNosotros.

This is spearheaded by the Philippines-Cuba Cultural & Friendship Association (PhilCuba) `featuring Ms Tamara Hansen, coordinator of the Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (Vancouver VCSC) and Filipino activists as speakers.

Some PhilCuba members attend the commemorative program for Moncada Day on July 26, 2022, at the José  Martí Memorial Bust in Plaza de Roma, Intramuros, Manila.   Moncada Day is celebrated in Cuba as National Day of Rebellion. This July 26, 2022 is the 69th year since the attack on the Moncada and Bayamo barracks by a hundred and sixty brave young people who dared to challenge the Batista dictatorship. Although it ended in failure, it had planted the seeds of the July 26 Movement.

Today, January 28, 2022, Cubans celebrate the 169th birth anniversary of their national hero José Julián Martí y Pérez. PhilCuba joins the Cuban people and  freedom fighters all over the world in honoring El Apóstol.  In honoring him, we are also remembering Cuba's and the Philippines' shared past and both people's continuing friendship. A heartfelt salute, José Martí!

Soberana Vaccine and Cuban Sovereignty: An Online Conversation is PhilCuba's 4th and final webinar for this year. Presenters / guest speakers include Dr. Eduardo Martinez, President of BioCubaFarma, and Dr. Vicente Verez Bencomo, Director of Finlay Institute; Dr. Nina Gloriani, Chair of the DOST Expert Vaccine Panel on COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trial; and Her Excellency Ibete Fernandez Hernandez, non-resident Cuban Ambassador to the Philippines. The 3rd installment of the 'Conversations on Cuba' online, "Cuban and Filipino Women in Revolutionary Struggles" was held on August 23, 2020 (PST), in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Federación de Mujeres Cubanas (FMC). The speakers in this event include women's rights advocate/activist Jenny R. Llaguno, Ph.D.; TV executive/broadcaster Sonia P. Soto, who is also vice president of women's federation Kaisa Ka; and Cuban Ambassador Ibete Fernandez, who summarized/translated the message of FMC secretary general Teresa Amarelle Boué.

This online conversation featured two guests speakers: Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP) Asia-Pacific & Oceania Director Leima Martinez Freire, who spoke on the lasting significance to the continuing Cuban Revolution of the historic moment of the July 26, 1953, Moncada Attack. Historian and UP professor Dr. Ferdinand Llanes, for his part, shared interesting facts during the Propaganda Movement in Spain wherein Filipinos and Cubans forged connections in a common aspiration to be independent from foreign domination.
"Cuba and COVID-19: International Medical Solidarity in the Time of Coronavirus" is a PhilCuba-sponsored webinar held on July 19, 2020.  Speakers include: Cuban Ambassador Ibete Fernandez on Cuba's health care, medical advances, international solidarity work and COVID-19 response; Jastine Domdom, a Filipina medical scholar at ELAM, on her ground experiences; and Dr. Ramon Paterno of the Universal Health Care Study Group on health for all, in view of the Philippines's pandemic response.
