Cuban film festivalThis Cuban Film Festival was a 3-day screening of Cuban films held on April 11-13, 2018, at the UP Film Center in Diliman, Quezon City, from the film collection of the Cuban Embassy in Malaysia. Sponsoring this film festival were Ambassador Ibete Fernandez Hernandez, Philippines-Cuba Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA), the UP Film Center and Socialist Circle.

OFFICIAL VISIT OF CUBAN AMBASSADOR IBETE FERNANDEZ, OCTOBER 2018Official visit of Cuban Ambassador Ibete Fernandez Hernandez to the Philippines, during which a wreath-laying ceremony was held at the Jose Marti bust at the Luneta premises in the presence of members of PhilCuba, Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society, city hall staff representing former Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada. The year 2018 is the 165th birth anniversary of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti Perez.

2018 Moncada dayMoncada Day is one of the most important dates celebrated in Cuba, every 26th of July, the day when the July 26 Movement was born. It commemorates the heroic youth under the leadership of Fidel Castro that attacked the Moncada Barracks in 1953, as a rejection of dictator Fulgencio Batista's coup in order to stay in power.

It also includes articles on the Moncada attack, on the decades-long US blockade against Cuba, and the Manila Declaration of the 8th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference of Solidarity With Cuba (APRCSC-8). Follwing this launch is the screening of the opening film of a 3-day Cuban Film Festival sponsored by PhilCuba, the UP Film Center and Socialist Circle.
