Moncada Day is commemorated every 26th of July in Cuba. It is celebrated as well by various solidarity groups all over the world in homage to those who were felled during the Moncada Attack on July 26, 1953, as well as those who lived and still live to fulfill its promise of fundamental socio-political and cultural reforms. Although it was failure, the July 26 Movement was born that created the impetus for the eventual victory of the Cuban Revolution. Moncada Day is also known as the National Day of Rebellion.
